DONT FORGET THEM this month !

Its Ramadhan again. There is joy and happiness, feasts at Iftaar, visits to relations, attendance at Masjids, meeting friends and colleagues and celebrating the month of Taqwa. In a land not so far away, in this very month, people are living in a state of fear, with little food, families murdered and bombed, honour taken away, lands occupied, unity severed, nations languishing in jails, tortured and brutalized, no response to their cries for help and seemingly no hope for the future.

Yes, these are the Muslims of Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan and the many other regions where suffering is taking place this Ramadhan. In this month, we must not forget them, their pains, their history and what the future holds for them.

Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The relationship of the believer with another believer is like (the bricks of) a building, each strengthens the other.'' He (PBUH) illustrated this by interlacing the fingers of both his hands. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

This month is not just only to make dua for them, but to involve yourselves in becoming the voices of the voiceless, the legs that move for them, the hands that change their destiny and the tongue that stands for the Haq.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Do not envy one another; do not inflate prices by overbidding against one another; do not hate one another; do not harbour malice against one another; and do not enter into commercial transaction when others have entered into that (transaction); but be you, O slaves of Allah, as brothers. A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim; he neither oppresses him nor does he look down upon him, nor does he humiliate him. Piety is here, (and he pointed to his chest three times). It is enough evil for a Muslim to hold his brother Muslim in contempt. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother-in-faith: his blood, his property and his honour".[Muslim].
